Financial management super app Expensify is launching a new travel platform.
The platform, called Expensify Travel, will be rolled out in phases. It is set to offer “extensive” booking and management features on Expensify’s website and on its mobile application with support available 24/7.
Expensify Travel will exist as part of a partnership between Expensify and Spotnana and has been built on Spotnana’s travel-as-a-service platform, which is cloud-based. The platform aims to give users access to features including lower fares, better servicing and a global travel inventory.
David Barrett, CEO of Expensify, said the idea is to make travel booking and management seamless.

“Book your trip in minutes, we’ll handle the rest. We’ve made it effortless for members to search and book flights, hotels, cars and trains — all at the most competitive rates available,” said Barrett. “Our early release will let business travelers manage it all in one place, with real-time support, customizable rules and the option to assign virtual travel cards to employees.”
In the long term, Expensify Travel will integrate Spotnana’s infrastructure directly with “New Expensify” – which is Expensify’s chat-based super application. Once that happens, customers should be able to book, chat with colleagues and manage travel and expenses in one location.
