Guesty unveils AI-driven messaging tool for short-term rentals


Short-term rental management software platform Guesty has launched an artificial intelligence-driven messaging service for automating guest communications.

“ReplyAI” uses generative AI algorithms to analyze guest and host correspondence to guide future responses, helping short-term rental property managers dispense accurate, timely and naturally written responses to guests, the company said. Since its soft launch in February, Guesty said its high-usage accounts have been using ReplyAI for half of their incoming messages.

The fast adoption reflects the need in the short-term rental market for AI-driven automation tools, Guesty co-founder and CEO Amiad Soto said.

“Guesty is intent on incorporating AI at every appropriate juncture within our [property management system] to create efficiencies for our customers, and ReplyAI is a true example of this progress,” Soto said. “Providing instant, tailored responses on behalf of hosts, ReplyAI reduces the workload and saves time for rental owners while creating an effortless, smooth experience for guests. As a pioneer of AI tech in hospitality, we are excited about this latest addition to our product suite.”

Founded in 2013, Israel-based Guesty operates in more than 80 countries and provides a comprehensive property management system for short-term rental and other hospitality businesses to automate and streamline their operations.

By analyzing correspondence between hosts and guests, ReplyAI can determine sentiment and apply natural language processing (NLP) techniques to construct responses for almost every incoming message. The tool mimics the tone and style of the property owner’s voice to personalize content. All messages can be edited, so users retain control while also allowing the software to continue learning and intuiting based on future communication.

The service is available in over 12 languages including English, Spanish, French, German, Chinese, Italian and Portuguese with the most common replies pertaining to messages about check-in and check-out procedures, parking information, Wi-Fi details, transportation options and local recommendations.

Guesty raised $130 million in April, saying it would use the funds to promote growth, especially in the United States and Europe. Before that, the company was already the top fundraiser among short-term rental startups, according to the Phocuswright Travel Startups Interactive Database, having totaled $283 million in funding.

In May, Guesty acquired Rentals United, a distribution platform for property managers. Terms of the deal were not made public.
