Artificial intelligence trip-planning platform Mindtrip has received undisclosed funding from Amex Ventures.
The investment comes on the heels of the company’s $12 million seed round last month. Mindtrip will use the new to scale. The company’s total funding currently sits above $20 million, Mindtrip said.
The startup has also unveiled a new feature to help travelers plan their trips based on receipts.
Andy Moss, founder and CEO of Mindtrip, pointed to the new function as an example of the company’s dedication to the end-to-end travel journey.

“Our new Receipts feature not only allows users to easily forward booking confirmations to jumpstart planning, but also keeps those confirmations readily accessible in one place throughout the trip,” said Moss. “No more digging through emails or carrying printed copies. This is just the first of many features we’re introducing as we expand into the on-trip phase of the travel experience.”
The feature should help users to keep track of their trip spending too, across hotel, food and beverage, airfares, activity bookings and more. Users can streamline their travel planning by uploading a PDF or screenshot of booking confirmation into Mindtrip’s chat feature. They can also send those items via email and Mindtrip will log essential details to factor into a travel itinerary. After that, Mindtrip can help to provide recommendations and more to bolster that itinerary base with additional items. Receipts can also be added during travel.
Moss said the funding with Amex Ventures couldn’t come at a better time.
“Amex shares our vision for advancing the travel industry,” said Moss. “With more travel planning and on-trip capabilities in the pipeline, we’re excited for this next chapter and the collaborations ahead.”
Matt Sueoka, global head of Amex Ventures, said the company believes Mindtrip’s approach can help transform the industry.
“We are always looking to invest in cutting-edge solutions for common travel problems, and Mindtrip has struck the right balance by leveraging advanced AI to anticipate travelers’ needs and streamline their experience,” said Sueoka. “We can’t wait to see what the Mindtrip team has in store and look forward to supporting them as they bring it to market.”
Mindtrip launched officially in May.
