BeyondBrain tests artificial intelligence travel agent Lumi

BeyondBrain, a technology company seeking to bring together the best of humans with artificial intelligence, is launching a voice-activated AI platform for travel planning and booking called Lumi.

The travel assistant tool, which is the first initiative from the Japan-based company, is currently in beta and can be used to book hotel reservations around the globe and table reservations at certain restaurants in both Japan and in Thailand through natural conversation.

โ€œIt does more than streamline travel โ€” it humanizes it,โ€ said BeyondBrainโ€™s marketing team. โ€œBy speaking naturally, travelers tap into a global concierge that not only handles bookings and itinerary changes, but also respects cultural nuances, transforming every trip into a more meaningful, personal experience.โ€

The system operates in more than 80 languages so it can communicate with local establishments. It can generate personalized itineraries and provide updates and make changes during travel, such as revising an activity booking or extending a hotel stay.ย

Many other companies have launched conversational AI-powered travel planners, such as Booking.com’s AI Trip Planner,ย Expedia Group’s Romie and startups such asย Mindtrip, a PhocusWire Hot 25 Startup for 25.
