Travel technology specialist Traveltek has been acquired by Juniper Group for an undisclosed sum.
Scotland-based Traveltek, which specializes in cruise and dynamic packaging technology, is the latest in a spate of recent acquisitions for Juniper Group, which is part of Vela Software and Constellation Software.
A statement said Traveltek will “leverage Juniper’s expansive global network and industry-leading product portfolio, further enhancing the company’s unique value for customers and partners.”
Juniper Group said the acquisition will strengthen its presence in the United Kingdom, North America and Australia.
Traveltek was founded more than 20 years ago and has expanded its present into the United States in recent years. The company received funding of £1.3 million in 2021 to develop its packaging technology.
Prior to that Traveltek had announced funding of £5.3 million in 2016 with the investment targeted for the company’s international growth strategy.
Mal Barritt, CEO of Traveltek, said: “Leading Traveltek into this new chapter is a proud milestone. This offers our customers unparalleled access to a broader array of resources and industry-leading products. Importantly, it also provides an exciting and sustainable home for Traveltek, where our team will have new growth and development opportunities.”
Jaime Sastre, CEO of Juniper Group and founder of Juniper Travel Technology, said: “The company’s talented management team and high-performance technology stack are a fantastic addition to our portfolio of travel software companies. Together, we can deliver more comprehensive solutions and meet the full range of technology needs for our customers and partners.”
Juniper Group acquired Vervotech in August 2023 and more recently acquired Lleego, a flight management technology specialist. Meanwhile, Canada-based Constellation Software, the parent of Juniper and Vela, acquired Peakwork last year and invested in Roibos, a marketplace connecting hoteliers and travel suppliers.
In an interview in the PhocusWire studio at Phocuswright Europe earlier this year, Sastre discussed how Juniper, Vela and Constellation fit together and the strategy for buying travel companies. Watch the full discussion below:
